Art Activity 'Mural on Sikh Muslim Harmony'




Art Activity "Sikh - Muslim Harmony", in Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib, Hasanabdal

In early 2009, Sikhs were forced to flee Swat and Buner as the Taliban imposed a tax on non-Muslims. They are internally displaced now and nearly 500 sikh families have taken refuge in the historical Gurdwara Panja Sahib. Funkor Childart Center and Civil Society Islamabad, organised an art activity of painting a mural on Sikh-Muslim Harmony with the children. Half of the mural was painted in Islamabad by Muslim children and the other half was painted in the historical Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasanabdal.
